Benoit is also an active member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the American Bar Association. He is a frequent contributor to U.S. and European media, including the New York Times, Le Figaro or Les Échos, and published a guide on real estate investments in Manhattan in the neighborhood of SoHo.

Prior to founding Black Tulip, Oliver served as Head of Strategy for Semeiotics, a Hong Kong family office, and as Director at
Clairfield International, and founded Troy Capital Ltd, a Hong Kong-based principal investment and advisory firm. He started his
career in the Securitization Team at Standard & Poor’s and Debt Capital Markets (Corporate Bond Origination) at Barclays Capital.
Oliver graduated with an MA (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh and a Diploma of Applied Finance from the Financial
Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). He is married with 2 children and lives in Chicago, IL.

Prior to forming NewOak, D’Vari was the Head of Structured Finance and Alternatives at BlackRock, managing a USD 90bn portfolio, and served on Portfolio Strategy Group, Fixed Income Business, Alternative, and New Product Committees. Prior to acquisition by BlackRock, Dr. D’Vari worked at State Street Research (SSRM) for 12 years culminating to joining the executive team responsible for the fixed-income asset management business of SSRM. He was a member of the firm’s Bond Policy Committee that managed USD 27 billion of fixed-income assets, and he established and led State Street’s collateralized debt obligation business and quantitative research team.
D’Vari holds B.S., M.S., Ph.D., and MBA from UCLA and is a CFA charter holder and has FINRA Series 24, 53, 7,and 63 licenses.
